Aboard the USS Massachusetts

Troop 76 has been on battleship trips before, but never quite like this one! Our very own Pack76 Cub Scouts and their families were invited. In all, eleven Scouts and nine Cubs attended with family members.

The fun started right away. All the participants of the trip drove up together in a very comfortable bus. We watched movies, and had our lunch along the way. As soon as we arrived, the kids (and adults too) were in awe of the site of The battleship USS Massachusetts, along with a Russian destroyer, a submarine, and others. After checking in, everyone dropped off their gear and started exploring every corner of the ships. Soon after, we all visited the nearby museum and experienced a very interesting presentation on little known facts about the sinking of the Titanic.

Dinner was provided for us that night, and after that we attending a presentation on the life of a typical army infantry soldier. Everyone present learned a lot that we didn't know.

The next morning after breakfast, the Troop took some group pictures and after some more exploring and a visit to the gift shop, we proceeded to head home. Our final stop brought us to the submarine museum, where we were able to take a very informative guided tour of a nucleur sub!

A great time was had by all, made in more fun with the presence of our young Cubs.
